The Village at Meridian Gives Back to Local Community
Four Local Nonprofits Received Proceeds From VIP Grand Opening Celebration
MERIDIAN, Idaho—October 18, 2013—The Village at Meridian has created an original book, New Wings, based on the concept of the fountain sculptures located in Fountain Square at The Village at Meridian. Written by Regional Marketing Director Ramona Richardson, the book’s focus on education and literacy are the driving force behind the sculptures – giving children wings to fly and taking them on a storybook journey to all corners of the earth. Book sales benefit four local non-profit organizations, Ballet Idaho, Meridian Symphony, Treasure Valley Children’s Theater and Meridian Library District.
The book was transformed into a ballet by Ballet Idaho, and the Meridian Symphony Orchestra accompanied the performance.
“As a member of the Meridian community for the last 24 years, we are proud to partner with The Village at Meridian, along with Ballet Idaho, Treasure Valley Youth Theater and Meridian Library District,” says Meridian Symphony President David Stolhand. “Our mission is shared by The Village in their commitment to enhancing education experiences for children.”
Autumn Kersey, founder of Treasure Valley Children’s Theater narrated the story and the Meridian Library District’s custom bookmobile was on site. The performance was revealed last night at the VIP grand opening celebration.
All four organizations were presented with more than 1,000 copies of the book to use as a fundraiser for their organizations – 100% of the proceeds will go towards the respective organization.
The Village at Meridian is committed to enhancing the educational experience of children in Idaho through, music, dance, theater arts and above all, literacy.
