Sur La Table & Z Gallerie to Open Locations at The Village at Meridian

High-end home stores find a perfect fit in the Treasure Valley

MERIDIAN, Idaho—March 18, 2014—The Village at Meridian has announced that two of the nation’s most sought-after home goods stores, Sur La Table and Z Gallerie, will both open new stores at The Village at Meridian in 2014. Sur La Table is setting its sights on an October opening, while Z Gallerie is hoping to open a bit earlier in June.

“We are beyond excited that both Sur La Table and Z Gallerie have chosen The Village at Meridian to open their first Treasure Valley locations,” says Hugh Crawford, general manager of The Village at Meridian. “With all the great lifestyle retail we have already in place, these stores will add a new dimension to our current offerings.”

Seattle-based Sur La Table is a popular retail destination for those with a passion for cooking, a great love of food and a desire to utilize the best home brands the world has to offer. Since 1972, Sur La Table has celebrated their legacy of knowledgeable and passionate service—their dedicated employees, many of them serious cooks themselves, share their expertise and enthusiasm for cooking every day. The 5,779-square-foot store will employ over 20 full- and part-time employees locally, and will also include a culinary program. With cooking classes in over 50 locations, Sur La Table operates the largest avocational cooking school nationwide.

“The opportunity to open a store in the Treasure Valley market, and to have it include a culinary program, is very exciting for Sur La Table,” says Mark Comstock, Vice President of Real Estate. “We have a very loyal customer base that has long been calling for us to open a store in the area. With the opening of The Village at Meridian, the time is right for us. The merchandising mix pulled together by The Village at Meridian team provides a tremendous draw to a broad array of consumers, all of whom will appreciate what Sur La Table offers.”

Z Gallerie, headquartered in Los Angeles, began in 1979 as a small, family-run poster shop. Over time the vision shifted, and the three siblings looked to put forth a collection of fashion-forward and exclusive home furnishings, art and accessories at an affordable price. Today, more than 30 years later, Z Gallerie continues to inspire both professional and amateur interior designers alike. It's the perfect store to pop in for a unique gift, find pieces that will accent any space or to create an entire room that is both fashionable and stunning. Their Village at Meridian location will hire around 20 full- and part-time employees.

“We are excited to open our location at The Village at Meridian,” says Mike Zeiden, co-founder and COO of Z Gallerie. “We have received a lot of enthusiasm from the community and know our customers are excited to shop the unique assortment of products that Z Gallerie has to offer. The Village at Meridian is a great place for us to enter into the Treasure Valley market because of its outstanding mix of shopping and dining.”
