H&M Opening

H&M to Open Second Local Location in The Village at Meridian

Global fashion company sees the Treasure Valley as a wise investment

MERIDIAN, Idaho—May 13, 2015—H&M has announced that it will be opening a store at The Village at Meridian in October 2015. This new store will offer everything you look to find in an H&M, including collections for ladies, men and children, plus their newest product lines recently added to their stores including maternity and plus-size. The Village store will employ approximately 50-75 people, depending on the season.

The new 23,000-square-foot location will be located in the space formerly slated for Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, right below Axiom Fitness. They will have an entrance facing Fairview, as well as one on the interior of The Village, next to The Counter.

“The fact that H&M decided to open a second store in the Treasure Valley shows that they want to be a part of the experience we offer at The Village,” says Ashley Robinson, Sr. Leasing Director for The Village at Meridian. “It also demonstrates the strength of this market from a long-term investment perspective.”

The Hennes women’s clothing store opened in Västerås, Sweden in 1947. In 1968, the founder purchased Mauritz Widforss, a hunting and fishing equipment store. Sales of men’s and children’s clothing begin. The name was then changed to Hennes & Mauritz (H&M). Until 2000, H&M outlets were only located in Europe-- the first location being New York City.  Since then, H&M has grown to encompass 3,500 stores spread over 58 markets worldwide.
