Brand New Theatre Concept To Hit The Treasure Valley
Village Cinema will open this October in The Village at Meridian,
featuring in-theater dining and the latest in movie technology
MERIDIAN, Idaho—September 25, 2013—The Village at Meridian, the new shopping experience located at the corner of Eagle Road & Fairview Road is proud to bring a new kind of cinema experience to the Treasure Valley—one that offers the latest in movie technology, dining and VIP seating.
Set in a deluxe art-nouveau atmosphere, Village Cinema 15 is perfect for a stress-free family outing or romantic date night. One of the highlights to any night out at the Village Cinema will be dining at the in-house restaurant, Backstage Bistro. The bistro features a global-fusion bistro menu, and will source ingredients from local vendors. Moviegoers will have the option to dine before, during or after their show.
“Backstage Bistro is more than your traditional popcorn and soda,” says James Howard, director of operations for Village Cinema. “Patrons are able to sit back, relax, watch a movie or the outside fountains while they sample a glass of wine from our extensive list, a local microbrew or a specialty cocktail. Everything they need is under the Village Cinema roof!”
The Village Cinema boasts over 75,000-square feet, which includes 2,500 seats spread over 15 auditoriums, nine with VIP seating on the mezzanine level. A few of the theaters feature screens up to 60 feet wide and three stories tall. In addition to premium Dolby Atmos sound, some theaters will feature D-BOX Motion Technology, a new concept and the only such system in the Treasure Valley. For $8 more, moviegoers are able to actually move with the movie—frontward and backward, side to side, up and down—resulting in a movie-going experience like none other.
“The Village at Meridian is honored to have an anchor tenant of the caliber of the Village Cinema,” says Hugh Crawford, general manager of The Village at Meridian. “This movie experience will be completely new to the state of Idaho and something the entire Treasure Valley will enjoy frequenting.”
The Village Cinema is expected to open the evening of October 18, 2013, coinciding with the grand opening of The Village at Meridian shopping center.
